Birka bread: My attempt at recreating the bread found in the Viking age town Birka, Sweden. The dough was made from mushed peas and barley flour, and it was leavened with sour milk and two days standing in a hot spot. Baked on hot stones in the hearth.
And a little information on archaeologically recovered bread from Sweden.
