ROMAN HISTORY ARGH Caesar’s greatest political victory. The richest man and the “Great”est general. I love the First Triumvirate. Then Lepidus essentially does nothing in the second while Antony and Octavian wait for civil war.
You might have better luck discussing this with amantes-amentes, but those segments of the historical pat are fascinating. Good ol’ Crassus. See also this chap. And the thing about Lepidus, is that he was a convenient member of the triumvirate at the time. The better covered and arguably more impactful part of the second triumvirate revolved Antony and Octavian, however, especially in terms of the backlash (Actium, the Augustan era that was in part propelled from Octavian’s success).
And hey, Crassus was pretty damn rich. Pretty damn rich.

Then when Lepipants was no longer convenient they made him the pope (okay so that’s anachronistic it was really pontifex maximus but bear with my shitty sense of humour) and sent him to Africa hey hey heyyyy. YOU KNOW ALL THIS ALREADY.
